March 12- Lazy day

Today we had big plans to get lots accomplished. The day didn’t really turn out that way. We started off with a nice (but oily) breakfast overlooking the ocean. The food wasn’t that great but the view was spectacular.

After breakfast we did a bit of souvenir shopping (or rather, a lot of souvenir shopping). We made good friends with the local shop owner, but the rest of the vendors have black listed us and give us bad looks whenever we pass.

After completing our shopping, Jessie and I returned back to our room to pack up our suitcases. Unfortunately the deluxe room that we had previously been upgraded to had expired and we were back to reality in a small fan room… the life of budget travelers! Once we moved our things over, we went for a quick swim in the resort pool. It was so refreshing. All I could think of is my grandmother saying it’s as warm as a bathtub, but it was nice all the same.

The majority of the afternoon was spent writing blogs and going for walks around the area. Jessie and I stopped for a late lunch at a new restaurant and Jessie ordered a tuna steak. It was divine!! I think it will be her new favorite meal. As we were eating, some women came to our table selling various fruits. I was thrilled to see all of my favorite foods in one place and was happy to buy an avocado and mango (these will be dinner tonight!).

The plans for tomorrow include snorkeling in the morning and visiting White Beach in the afternoon. Hopefully we’ll see our friend John Paul as well.
